For eight years, Michelle Obama left a lasting impression on the White House and the world with her effortless style, bewitching humor, and her passionate crusades for getting girls learning, eradicating childhood obesity and healthy eating. Now, a book of photographs commemorating her time as the First Lady will be available from bookstores on Oct. 17.
On Tuesday, Ten Speed Press announced the Fall release of Chasing Light: Michelle Obama Through the Lens of a White House Photographer. The book will feature 150 color shots by White House Photographer Amanda Lucidon.
“Mrs. Obama is a source of light and inspiration in my life,” Lucidon said in a press release. “She was a mentor to me and so many people around the world. The work she has done with young people, especially girls and underserved youth, has helped me realize that I want to spend my life helping others reach their fullest potential.” Each photograph will feature personal commentary from Lucidon.
The photographic tribute to Mrs. Obama will be available for purchase just three weeks before the release Pete Souza’s “Obama: An Intimate Portrait,” is set to hit newsstands on Nov. 7.
