Carolyn Griffin, Founder of Clerisy Circle, Co-Founder of The Hub for Urban Entrepreneurship, and Owner of CE Excursions
Carolyn Elaine Griffin is a proud Nashville native who is passionate about unifying, empowering, and investing in the black community. As the Founder of Clerisy Circle, the Co-Founder of The Hub for Urban Entrepreneurship (HUE), and the owner of CE Excursions, Carolyn seeks to eradicate the systemic and economic constraints that plague the black community.
Clerisy Circle is a curator of highly skilled young professionals who seek to leverage cooperative economics and collaboration in order to create change by means of a collective force. This is executed through flagship programmings such as Got Your Back (GYB) and Thirdsty Thursdays. HUE seeks to inspire, develop and promote entrepreneurship and economic development in underserved and underrepresented communities.
In November 2016, HUE launched the inaugural Black Entrepreneurship Week (BEW), which will continue to be celebrated annually during Global Entrepreneurship Week. Through these social enterprises, Carolyn finds purpose in giving back to a community that has given so much to her.
Carolyn is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Spelman College in 2009. After spending a year teaching English in Spain, Carolyn returned to school to complete an MBA at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management with a concentration in Marketing and a specialization in Brand Management in 2014.
Carolyn is currently working for Infosys Limited as an account engagement manager with a portfolio that includes Tractor Supply Company in Nashville, TN and Auto Zone in Memphis. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and finding ways to be a change agent within the community.
